A to Z Alphabet

Well, I managed to finish my "Y" image for the A to Z Alphabet group on Flickr.

Unfortuneately, I missed the August and September deadines for the other Flickr group, Illustrapedia. However, I did a little sort of "cheat" picture and submitted it late (last night) which combined the two topics (Aliens and Musicians).

And yes...it was coloured using an old set of Rexel Colouring (and Painting) crayons that I stil had in my cupboard. Quite weird to go back to traditional methods without the use of the good ol' "undo" feature of Photoshop!!

Anyway, I've got (hopefully) quite a nice idea for the October topic - "Halloween". Onward...

I love Meeting new Clients!

Below "Hank At Home"

I love meeting new portrait clients. Yesterday Hank's Mom dropped by to pick up her project. Hank is a lovely Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and I think my very first one. She arrived at my house with another great client from this last year and we had a lovely visit. Last night she forwarded a shot of her portrait hanging and this rounded out my week in a lovely way. I like that pretty copper colored vase below the artwork, they work very well together. Thanks to Linda for sending us a photo and so quickly! YAY!

Marvel Comics Papercraft: X-Men

I stumbled onto a fledgling papercraft blog called My Paper Heroes (run by UK papercrafter Xavier Leo Gale-Sides) and I was delighted to find numerous X-Men papercraft. Pictured above are Rogue, Emma Frost, Psylocke, Professor Xavier, Beast, and Havok. Other X-Men characters available for download include Angel, Cyclops, Colossus, Archangel, Wolverine, Iceman, Cannonball, and Jamie Madrox. And as if that wasn't enough, there are also models of the Incredible Hulk and the Silver Surfer. Look for more Marvel Comics papercraft in the future from Gale-Sides. His blog is located here.
